Not only contacts and photos, but also text messages, videos, music, call logs, documents, and apps are supported to transfer from Xiaomi to Xiaomi. Except for Android to Android transfer, it also supports to transfer data from iPhone to iPhone, from iPhone to Xiaomi, and from Xiaomi to iPhone.

Besides, it makes it much easier to clear unnecessary data on your new phone before transferring data to it. If needed, simply check the “Clear Data before Copying” feature before you start to transfer.

Way 3: Transfer Files from an Old Xiaomi Device to a New One via ShareMe

ShareMe, previously known as Mi Drop, is another phone to phone transfer app developed by the Xiaomi. With it, you can wirelessly transfer files from one Xiaomi phone to another. Both Xiaomi Mi phone and Xiaomi Redmi phone can work with it.

It claims that it can transfer files with costing data traffic or a Wi-Fi network. However, there are less supported data types for this ShareMe app than the above 2 programs. Only pictures, applications, music, videos, and documents are supported to be transferred from Xiaomi to Xiaomi. What’s more, there are some potential risks that the transfer process gets interrupted by a sudden error, which may have your phone data damaged or lost. Although it’s less likely.

Google Drive is a data backup and restore app for Android devices. With it, you can back up data from your old Xiaomi phone, then restore the backed up data to your new Xiaomi phone. So, it’s better that you have a Google account, and you have already backed up your Xiaomi phone data. Otherwise, it may take forever to back up your old Xiaomi phone and restore to your new Xiaomi phone.

Besides, Google Drive offers only 15GB of storage for free, which is easy to be run out. If you want more storage space, you need to purchase with your Google account. And it supports to sync fewer types of files, so, only contacts, call logs, texts, and settings can be transferred from your old Xiaomi device to the new one with this method. Anyway, it’s a kind of way.
