Los Angeles aka the City of Angels is one of the most well-known places in the world. It is the subject of songs, movies, and so much more. Not only is it a place for relaxation and comfort, but it is also a place to have adventures and expand your mind. There are so many things to see and do in this city and here is a brief list of some of the things that you can experience if you decide to visit this great city.
1. Take A Walk Around The Venice Canals
This is an almost surreal place to find yourself in as it is in the heart of the city but is in a world of its own. The place is calm and composed with glamorous houses dotted along the canals and it makes for a serene atmosphere. They are man-made canals, created in 1905 by developer Albert Kinney who wanted to create the feel of Venice in Italy. If you are ever in L.A. then make sure to take the time to take a stroll around the Venice Canals to get away from the sometimes inherent turbulent nature of the city.
2. Get Down To The Santa Monica Pier
Santa Monica Pier is a staple of California with its amazing restaurants and theme-park rides. The Pacific Wheel alone is what makes it an iconic destination to go to. The atmosphere there is lively and friendly, with numerous buskers playing along with the boardwalk and food stalls dotted around. There is also a roller-coaster in the middle of the pier which has been running for over 25 years. Fishing is also popular there as the end of the pier has a vast area to cast your line and maybe pick up a sizeable fish or two.
3. Attend An NBA Game
If there is one thing to do while in Los Angeles, it has to be to attend an NBA game. Some of the best teams in the league come out of L.A. You’ve got the L.A. Lakers, the L.A. Clippers, and the Los Angeles Sparks. The betting odds on the NBA playoffs usually lean towards an L.A. team as a safe bet, although it can be a difficult choice to make, as most of the teams in the league are highly skilled. If you get to the Crypto.com Arena (formerly the Staples Center) do yourself a favor and get in on the highly thrilling action of one of the home games.
4. Experience Hollywood
Los Angeles has so many places you can go and see. Rodeo Drive has plenty of shops for the fashion-minded while the movie aficionados might want to take a walk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There have been an uncountable number of films set in and around Los Angeles so it is a surreal feeling to be where the films you have seen over the years were shot. The Chinese Theatre is especially famous on the main strip and features several hands and footprints belonging to famous actors right in front of it. The weather is mostly warm especially during the summer and makes for a comfortable stroll around the town.
With all the glitz and glam centered around Los Angeles, it might be difficult for first-time visitors to truly understand and appreciate this city but once you begin to scratch the surface, L.A. truly does offer something for everyone.
